Sebastian Schich offers targeted economic consulting to international public institutions, drawing on close to three decades of high-level experience at the OECD, where he advanced work on financial sectors and financial stability for the Committee on Financial Markets and represented the organization at the Financial Stability Board (FSB). Currently a research fellow at the São Paulo School of Business Administration, he specializes in financial markets, financial safety nets, crypto assets and policy impact analysis. He has worked for or collaborated with entities like the European Investment Bank (EIB), European Commission Joint Research Centre, New York Fed, Bank of England, Banca d’Italia, and Swedish Riksbank. Institutions seeking incisive analysis on deposit insurance and crisis resolution and the design of financial sector guarantees will find his evidence-based insights invaluable for policy design and risk management.

In parallel, Sebastian unveils hidden urban narratives through street photography. Showcased in prominent Paris and Berlin gallery exhibitions, his work has garnered the 2021 EIB “Behind the Lens” overall prize for “EIB Premises in Morning Mist” and a Prix IREST 2023 finalist honor for “Parisian Mannequins” at the Sorbonne Art Gallery. Primarily crafted with the Leica M10-P—featuring minimalist post-processing and signature 35mm/50mm primes, alongside wide-angle and telephoto explorations—his images capture atmospheres and human conditions in different urban environments. These limited-edition prints and digital collections, rich in narrative depth, invite discerning collectors to acquire via direct inquiry.

“EIB premises in morning mist”, Overall winner of EIB “Behind the Lens” 2021 competition.

Notes: The EIB “footprint” in terms of its headquarters on Kirchberg is visible from the traditional part of the city of Luxembourg. The building from the early 1980s shows its age in terms of style and its prominent position highlights how the EIB has contributed early on to the ambitious urban development project of the Kirchberg plateau. The typical heavy morning mist was very dense on that day; one could feel the atmosphere on the misty Kirchberg plateau even from the main part of the city, here from the southern part of the Oberstadt.
